Trust Index™ v5.0

AI Privacy Risk Analysis

Evidence-based evaluation of privacy policy quality and data handling transparency in AI tools. Trust Index v5.0 uses deterministic signals — not AI opinions or popularity metrics.

What Trust Index v5.0 Evaluates

Trust Index v5.0 evaluates privacy policy presence and quality only. Scores reflect confirmed privacy-related concerns at a specific point in time.

Privacy Policy Existence

Does the tool have a published, accessible privacy policy?

Data Collection Transparency

Does the policy clearly state what data is collected?

Data Usage Clarity

Is data usage (training, analytics, third-party sharing) explained?

User Rights & Control

Does the policy mention data access, deletion, or opt-out rights?

What v5.0 Does NOT Evaluate

Trust Index v5.0 does not evaluate:

  • • Security practices or breach history
  • • Pricing transparency or billing volatility
  • • Vendor financial stability or operational maturity
  • • Compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or other regulations
  • • Actual data handling practices (only policy statements)

These dimensions are planned for Trust Index v6.0 (not active yet).

How Privacy Scores Are Calculated

Each tool starts at 100 points. Deductions are applied based on confirmed policy gaps or concerns:

  • Missing privacy policy: -15 points
  • Vague data collection statements: -10 points
  • Unclear data usage or third-party sharing: -10 points
  • No mention of user rights (access, deletion): -8 points
  • Policy uses ambiguous language ("may collect"): -5 points
  • No update date or contact information: -5 points each

Scoring is deterministic: same evidence = same score. No subjective ratings or AI predictions.

Not legal or compliance advice. Trust Index scores reflect privacy policy quality at a specific point in time. Policies change; always verify current documentation before making adoption decisions. This is analytical intelligence for risk evaluation, not recommendations.
