AI Governance & Human Oversight
Trust Index™ is human-governed with deterministic scoring logic, vendor dispute rights, and transparent evidence review. No black-box AI predictions.
Core Governance Principles
Deterministic Logic
Same evidence always produces the same score. No subjective ratings, no AI opinions, no popularity algorithms. Scoring rules are public and auditable.
Human Review Required
Every Trust Index score is reviewed by human analysts before publication. Evidence is cross-checked against source documents (privacy policies, terms of service).
Vendor Dispute Rights
Tool vendors can dispute scores by providing corrected evidence or policy updates. Disputes are reviewed within 5 business days.
Time-Bound Validity
Scores reflect evidence at a specific evaluation date. Policies change; users must verify current documentation before making adoption decisions.
Evidence Review Process
Trust Index scores are derived from publicly available evidence:
- Evidence collection: Privacy policies, terms of service, and public statements are retrieved from official tool websites.
- Automated analysis: Policy text is scanned for required disclosures (data collection, usage, rights).
- Human validation: Analysts verify flagged concerns, confirm policy gaps, and cross-check evidence.
- Score calculation: Deterministic rules apply deductions based on confirmed gaps. No manual overrides.
- Publication: Scores are published with evaluation date and evidence links.
No sponsors, no pay-for-placement, no AI-generated ratings. Scores are not influenced by tool popularity or affiliate relationships.
How Vendors Can Dispute Scores
If your tool's Trust Index score contains errors or reflects outdated policy information, you may submit a dispute:
- 1. Visit the Trust Index Dispute Portal
- 2. Provide your tool name, current score, and specific concerns
- 3. Submit updated policy links or corrected evidence
- 4. Disputes are reviewed within 5 business days
- 5. If evidence supports your dispute, the score is recalculated and republished
Note: Disputes must be evidence-based. We cannot adjust scores based on intent, roadmap promises, or future plans. Only current, published policies are evaluated.
What Trust Index Is NOT
- • Not compliance certification: Scores do not certify GDPR, CCPA, or SOC 2 compliance.
- • Not legal advice: Scores are analytical intelligence, not legal or regulatory guidance.
- • Not product reviews: We do not evaluate features, UX, or customer support quality.
- • Not recommendations: Low scores = identified concerns; high scores ≠ endorsement.
- • Not AI-generated: No black-box predictions, no machine learning bias, no opaque algorithms.
